The Achilles Tendon connects the calf muscles to the heel bone. When this important tendon is injured it can cause significant pain and severely limit mobility.
There are two main conditions that can impact the Achilles Tendon:
- Achilles Tendon Rupture which is a tearing or separation of the tendon fibers causing the inability to walk on the impacted foot
- And Achilles Tendinopathy which is a less significant injury characterized by inflammation –a condition called Tendonitis or tiny tears in the tendon with no inflammation —a condition called Tendinosis.
