A fungal nail infection– sometimes called Onychomycosis or Tinea Unguium—
is an infection of the nail caused by a fungus that occurs more often on the toes
rather than fingernails. The fungi that cause the condition thrive if warm, moist
environments and is spread through direct contact with the fungus.
